Where did we go wrong in Africa?

George Ayittey who is a Ghanaian economist, author and president of the Free Africa Foundation in Washington DC has championed the argument that Africa is poor because she is not free.

He once said in a statement that; the primary cause of African poverty is less a result of the oppression and mismanagement by colonial powers, but rather a result of modern oppressive native autocrats and socialist central planning policies.

In this series of #MyAfricanStory, he shed more light on the natural resources in Africa and how corruption has crippled development in the continent.

George Ayittey says; The solution to Africa’s problems lie in Africa, not in live aid concerts.
